Residents voted 486-294 to keep their police department Tuesday rather than entering into a shared services agreement with the county which could've saved taxpayers more than $700,000 a year. Mohegan Lake Complex Sells For $54M The Landing at Mohegan Lake has sold to Ginsburg Development for $54 million. The company announced the acquisition Tuesday of the 207-unit lakefront community, which features one and two-bedroom apartments. Ginsburg acquired the property from New Chalet Apartments. The apartments range in size from 712 to 1,215 square feet and rent from $1,860 to $2,595 per month. A lost dog was reunited with his owner in Red Hook after an overwhelming response to a Facebook post by the Red Hook Police Department.  The dog was found at 79 Hapeman Hill Rd. and the post was shared 1,100 times by 45,184 people. Assisted Living Facility Proposed In New City NEW CITY, N.Y. -- Another senior living complex is being proposed for New City. A three-story 70,000 square foot 80 unit building is being proposed on five acres near Phillips Hill Road. There will be 64 one bedroom units and 16 two bedroom units, according to documents submitted to the Clarkstown Planning Board. Briarcliff Cheerleaders Head To Nationals BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- The Briarcliff cheerleading squad is going to Disney World. The cheerleaders will be competing at the National High Scool Cheerleading Championship on Feb. 10-11 at Walt Disney World. The contest will be televised on ESPN. This is the first time Briarcliff is competing at nationals. The team qualified after competing at a regional competition in the Poconos.  The 15 cheerleaders, coached by Stephanie Georgioudakis, do a three-minute routine featuring cheers, stunting, and dancing.
