An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Gov. Cuomo Unveils State Budget New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo unveiled his $168 billion 2018-2019 budget to lawmakers on Tuesday. Cuomo's budget includes a three-percent increase in funding for schools and a one-percent increase in funding for higher education. The budget also increases funding for capital projects by 14 percent and health care by three-percent. The budget also reduces spending on transportation, community colleges, mental hygiene and state agencies. Astrid Wray, 77, Mount Kisco MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. --  Astrid Margareta Svenson Wray died Saturday morning of pancreatic cancer in Mount Kisco. Wray was born on May 14, 1940, in Sweden. She worked at Northern Westchester Hospital Center and The Harvey School, Katonah, before becoming a full-time mother. She was a founding member of the local Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary where she held active duty at many offices for a time. She is predeceased by her husband Raymond F. Dutchess Gets $2.2 Million For Water Projects DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- The state is helping Dutchess County improve its infrastructure and protect its land.  The county was awarded $2.2 million from the state Department of Environmental Conservation for three water quality improvement projects. The Town of Poughkeepsie is getting $28,063 to purchase and install mapping software that will be used to electronically map the existing town infrastructure. The project will enable the town to manage its entire water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure system.  The Dutchess Land Conservancy is getting $982,290 to buy a conservation easement …

Man Harassed Yorktown Officer 32 Times, Police Say A 51-year-old Peekskill man was arrested and charged after police say he left 32 harassing messages for a police officer. Peter Bub was charged with 32 counts of aggravated harassment in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Police say the harassment occurred between June 14, 2017, and Nov. 29, 2017. Bub was located and arrested and was released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on Jan. 13.
