$5M Gym Replacing Shuttered North Jersey Big Lots Store People in Livingston have no excuse for not wanting to exercise. Crunch Fitness announced on its Instagram page it is planning to open a brand new 35,000 square foot gym at the site of the former Big Lots store at 585 W Mount Pleasant Avenue this fall. According to its Instagram page, the $5 million gym will open this fall. The first 500 members will pay only $1 and get one month free, along with a free t-shirt and other swag.

Meet Clay Travis At Ridgewood Bookstore Conservative commentator and sportswriter Clay Travis is coming to Bergen County. Travis, who founded the sports website Outkick and co-hosts "The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show," will be signing copies of his new book "American Playbook" at Bookends in Ridgewood on Monday, August 7 at 6 p.m. In "American Playbook", Travis lays out his gameplan for how the Republican Party can turn its fortunes around and defeat Democrats at the ballot box, according to a synopsis. Woman Dies After Discovered Unresponsive Outside Rutgers Newark: Prosecutors A 42-year-old Newark woman died after she was found unresponsive outside a Rutgers Newark University building on Saturday, July 29, authorities said. At 12:41 p.m., Rutgers Police found Jaleila Wilson outside a university building on the 100 block of Bleecker Street, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Jersey City Inspector Busted For No-Showing Work: Prosecutors Zamir Thomas, who works as a quality of life inspector for Jersey City, was charged after prosecutors say he sat home while he was supposed to be working, authorities said. Thomas, 31, was arrested on Friday, July 28 by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Unit and charged with one count of theft by deception in the third degree, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Man Fatally Shot In Newark: Prosecutors A 52-year-old Newark resident was fatally shot on Thursday, July 27, authorities said. At 6:11 p.m., police responded to a shooting on the 300 block of Wainwright Street and found Eddie Boykins suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Saddle Brook Rallies Around Girl Injured, Orphaned In Earthquake Rayen Bekri, a 13-year-old girl, was trapped in the rubble for six days following an earthquake in her native Turkey in February. Now living with family in Bergen County, the community has come together to help her. While trapped under six floors of a collapsed building, Bekri held onto her brother, though he did not survive. Elizabeth Man Busted With Heroin, Cocaine: Linden PD A 29-year old Elizabeth man was arrested and charged with possessing and distributing heroin, cocaine and oxycodone on Thursday, July 27, Linden police said.
