The Board of Legislators reached a deal on a $1.8 billion budget that increases taxes by two percent Friday. Somers Woman Leaves Toddlers In Car To Go Shopping, Yorktown Police Say A 37-year-old Northern Westchester woman was arrested and charged after she left her two children in the car to shop at Toys 'R' Us near the Jefferson Valley Mall on Thursday, police say. Kary Sarrey of Somers was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor. Police said Sarrey left her 2-year-old child and 8-month-old child unattended in the car for more than 15 minutes. She was arrested at the scene and released on her own recognizance. She is due back in court on Dec. 14.

Brooklyn Nets Waive Westchester Native Sean Kilpatrick Sean Kilpatrick's homecoming is over. The White Plains High School graduate, who was born in Yonkers, was waived by the Brooklyn Nets Thursday after the team acquired Jahlil Okafor and Nik Stauskas in a trade with Philadelphia. Kilpatrick had struggled to crack the Nets rotation this season, playing in 16 games where he averaged 4.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and .9 assists per game. Somers High School Students' Holiday Crafts Benefit Putnam Hospital Center Isabella DeChico and Adelina Ademaj, two juniors at Somers High School, are selling crafts for a good cause. The two are selling holiday ornaments and pens made out of polyester clay to raise money for Putnam Hospital Center’s oncology department. “It is our local hospital so we wanted to help out,” DeChico said. Ademaj said she is interested in pursuing medicine and cancer research and DeChico is into making crafts. So the two combined their interests for the project.
