An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Sherriff's Office Offering $10K Reward For Info On Essex County Bias Crimes The Essex County Sheriff's Office is hoping a new reward will allow them to find the people responsible for recent bias crimes that have plagued West Orange. The sheriff office's Crime Stoppers Program is offering up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the vandalism at Harper's Café and the threatening phone call another business owner received last week. Newly Minted Millionaire! Elmwood Park Lotto Player Wins Big The Powerball drawing on Wednesday, July 19 produced some big winners. While no one in the Garden State took home the $1 billion jackpot, a ticket sold in Bergen County matched all five of the white balls drawn, winning $1 million. The ticket was sold at Metro Liquor on Broadway in Elmwood Park. The winning numbers were 07, 10, 11, 13 and 24 and the red Powerball number was 24.

Newark Rallies To Help Longtime Resident Get Back On His Feet Kenneth Pope has spent the last year and a half fighting for his health. The longtime Newark resident, who is affectionally known as Ken Love or Pope, has been dealing with health issues related to diabetes and issues with his kidneys since Dec. 2021. He has spent 28 years as a track supervisor for the MTA. Pope's health issues have forced him to have to relearn how to walk again. Café Displaying Pride Flag Vandalized Twice In Essex County Recent bias incidents in Essex County last week have caught the attention of authorities. Essex County Girl With Neurological Disorder Sees Community Support Kayla Burrowes' life has been turned upside down as she battles the effects of Functional Neurological Disorder. The West Orange native's medical journey began when she contracted covid-19 and she soon began to have persistent dizziness, severe headaches and bouts of nausea and vomiting.
