Daytime Closures Planned For Stretch Of Taconic State Parkway In New Castle Be ready for possible travel delays on the Taconic State Parkway in the coming days. Road crews in Westchester County will be closing one southbound lane between Exit 11 (State Route 134) and Exit 8 (State Route 100/133) in New Castle, the New York State Department of Transportation said. Long Island Man Sentenced For Firing Gun At Police Officer A Long Island man who fired a gun at a police officer during a foot pursuit will spend the next three decades in prison. David Serrant, age 23, of Freeport, was sentenced to 29 years behind bars in Nassau County Court Tuesday, Aug. 30. NY Declares Polio State Of Emergency After Virus Detected In Several New Counties New York Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state disaster emergency Friday, Sept. 9, after polio was found in more wastewater samples. Newark Woman Nabbed For Role In CT McLaren Sports Car Theft: Police A Newark woman is facing charges for her alleged role in stealing a sports car valued at over $200,000 from a Connecticut home.
