Man Tried To Rob People Outside State Capitol, Police Say A man from the region is facing charges after he allegedly tried robbing people near the state Capitol. State police in Albany were called just before 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, with a report that a man with a knife was demanding money from people on Madison Avenue, outside of the Empire State Plaza.  Working with Albany Police, troopers identified the suspect as 39-year-old Shawn Haymon, of Albany, police said.  He was arrested a short time later on charges of felony robbery and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor. Though he lost in the primary election, Foppoli’s family said he more than proved his political chops, earning the endorsements of several local and national political groups along the way. Police were called at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 in Albany with reports of a domestic assault involving a gun at a home on Second Avenue.
