Woman Nabbed For Alleged Role In Theft Of McLaren Sports Car From New Canaan Home Garage A woman is facing charges for her alleged role in stealing a sports car valued at over $200,000 from a Connecticut home. In Fairfield County, New Canaan Police were called just after 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, with reports that a 2020 McLaren GT sports car had been stolen from inside the garage of a home located in the northwest section of New Canaan. 4 Charged With Conspiring To Distribute Cocaine In Capital District Four men from the region are facing federal charges for allegedly running a cocaine ring in the Capital District. Between June and December 2021, the group obtained numerous packages that were shipped by US Mail from Puerto Rico to addresses in Albany and Rensselaer counties, according to the US Attorney’s Office in the northern district. Inside each package was approximately one kilogram (2.2 pounds) of cocaine, prosecutors said. Search Underway For Fisherman Whose Boat Capsized In Hudson Valley River Emergency crews were searching for a missing fisherman in the Hudson Valley Thursday afternoon, Sept. 8. State police and other first responders in Orange County were called at around 7:30 a.m. to an area of the Delaware River in the town of Deerpark with reports of a missing fisherman. Investigators determined that two men had been fishing on the river near Cherry Island State Park when their boat capsized. Person Struck By Car, Killed In Capital District A person has died after being struck by a car in the Capital District. The incident happened at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, in Schenectady, near State and Spruce streets, police said. When officers arrived, they found a female pedestrian lying in the street. Home Health Aide In Capital District Stole ID Of Elderly Woman Under Her Care, Police Say A home health aide in the Capital District is facing charges after allegedly stealing the identity of an elderly woman under her care. Washington County resident Sherrilyn Ostrander, age 32, of Hudson Falls, was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 6, for felony identity theft, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. 'Irate' 24-Year-Old Assaults Officer During Arrest On Long Island, Police Say A Long Island man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly assaulted an officer during an arrest. Nassau County Police were called at around 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, with reports of an “irate” man causing a disturbance at a home in Hewlett, near Hewlett and Yale avenues.
