2 Robbery Suspects Remain At Large After Pursuit In Port Chester: Police Two suspects who were part of a crew involved in several robberies were able to escape authorities after a chase in Westchester, police said. The incident happened on Sunday morning, July 2 around 1:30 a.m., when the New York City Police Department followed an alleged robbery crew from Queens on Interstate 95 North. Alert Issued For Missing Yonkers 15-Year-Old Authorities in Westchester are asking for help from the public in finding a 15-year-old boy who ran away from home. Edwin Valerio, age 15, ran away from his Yonkers home on Sunday morning, July 2, according to Yonkers Police. Battery-Powered Children's Car Starts Fire At Croton-On-Hudson Home A residence in Northern Westchester was damaged when a children's battery-powered car erupted into flames in the home's garage, prompting a response by a hazmat team. The incident happened on Friday, June 30 just before 7 a.m., when firefighters in Croton-on-Hudson were sent to a home on Hixson Road that was filling with smoke. Woman Driving Drunk Charged After Crashing In Yorktown, Police Say A 27-year-old Hudson Valley woman faces drunk driving charges after crashing on a Northern Westchester road, police said. Lane Closure: Route 9A To Be Affected For Months In Mount Pleasant An upcoming lane closure is set to affect traffic on a stretch of a busy state route in Northern Westchester for several months. A single lane of State Route 9A in both directions in Mount Pleasant between Beverly Road and Old Saw Mill River Road will close beginning on Wednesday, July 5 at 11:59 p.m., according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The closure will last through Thursday, Nov. 30. The reason for the extended lane closures is to allow for a widening of the roadway, officials said.
