Bike, Scooter Thefts On Rise At Pelham Metro-North Stop, Police Say Authorities are warning commuters of an uptick in bike, scooter, and moped thefts at a train station in Westchester. The rise in thefts has been happening at the Pelham Metro-North train station, the Village of Pelham Police Department announced on Wednesday, Aug. 16. In order to avoid being victimized, the department advised commuters to secure their bikes, scooters, and mopeds with a quality lock. Additionally, the department recommended commuters place Apple AirTag devices on their vehicles in order to have the ability to track them.

Victims Robbed At Gunpoint While Trying To Buy Gaming Console In New Rochelle: Thieves At Large Authorities are searching for a duo who robbed two victims at gunpoint in Westchester after making arrangements to sell them a gaming console over the internet, police said. The incident happened on Wednesday, Aug. 16 just before 10:45 p.m., when New Rochelle Police responded to an area near the intersection of Remington Place and Prince Street for a reported robbery. Vehicle Fire Rages In Port Chester: Photos A raging vehicle fire in Westchester near the Fairfield County line kept crews busy for an extended amount of time. The blaze happened on Thursday morning, Aug. 17 in the village of Port Chester near the border with Greenwich, the village's fire department said. Because the car's fuel tank had become compromised, the effort to extinguish the flames became an "extended operation," according to the department. Construction Worker Dies From Fall At Residence In Pleasantville: Police A construction worker was killed on the job after falling from a residence in Northern Westchester.
