Yorktown Man Involved In Three-Car Crash Drove Drunk, Police Say A three-car accident on Underhill Avenue and Rochambeau Drive in Yorktown resulted in a 52-year-old man being charged with felony DWI Friday. Roy Byremo of Yorktown was charged with a felony DWI and felony aggravated DWI because he had a previous DWI conviction in the last 10 years, Yorktown Police said. He was also charged with driving with a suspended registration, a misdemeanor. After investigating the accident, Byremo was arrested at the scene and transported back to police headquarters.

The Walkway was awarded a $500,000 grant through New York State’s Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) program this week, to be allocated toward the planned Eastern Entrance Welcome Center. The welcome center is expected to be completed by spring 2019 and will feature permanent restrooms, a gathering area for up to 40 visitors,  water fountains, benches, lighting, landscaping and other amenities. Rockland Allowing Residents To Prepay 2018 Property Taxes ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Rockland County residents will be able to pay their 2018 tax bills early. Rockland County Legislators voted 13-0 Wednesday to approve the tax warrants necessary for Clarkstown, Haverstraw, Orangetown, Ramapo and Stony Point to accept early payments of some 2018 taxes.
