Tattooed Paterson Gunman Faces Attempted Murder Charge A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged for a shooting that occurred in Paterson last month. Rashane Lewis, of Paterson, was charged with first-degree attempted murder for shooting a 20-year-old man at 12th Avenue and William Street on Friday, March 10 around 9 p.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. The victim's injuries were not fatal. Police apprehended Lewis on Tuesday, April 4, following an investigation, Valdes said. Lews was charged with attempted murder, various weapons offenses, and terroristic threats, and was issued a disorderly persons offense.

Implosion Of Nabisco Factory Postponed What's left of the shuttered Nabisco factory on Route 208 will remain standing a little while longer. The borough of Fair Lawn announced the implosion, set for Saturday, April 15, has been postponed. A new date and time has not been announced.  The borough did not give a reason for the postponement, though residents had expressed concern, including launching a petition, about the environmental impacts of the implosion. Newark Student Slashed At School: Police A 12-year-old boy was slashed in the cheek at a Newark elementary school on Tuesday, April 4, according to police.  The boy was slashed following an altercation with another child at Roberto Clemente Elementary School at 257 Summer Ave, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.
