Gunman Nabbed In Mass Newark Shooting: Prosecutor A 42-year-old Irvington man has been arrested for the Saturday, April 15 mass shooting in Newark that left one man dead and three others injured. Antuane Gregory was arrested and charged with murder, among other charges, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II said. Cory Beasley, a 43-year-old Newark resident was killed in the shooting. The three people injured remain in stable condition, Stephens said. Wyckoff's Jonas Brothers Sing In The Stairwell On Tonight Show The Jonas Brothers are continuing to innovate. The New Jersey natives, who grew up in Wyckoff, debuted a new segment on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," on Tuesday, April 18. They sang their new song "Waffle House" in the Tonight Show stairwell with The Roots. The segment was appropriately titled "Musical Stairs." The Jonas Brothers recently appeared on "Saturday Night Live" wearing matching red and white jumpsuits to dance with Molly Shannon's Sally O'Malley character.

NJ Hospital Unveils New Glass Lobby As Part Of $150 Million Renovation Project Newark Beth Israel Medical Center's main lobby has gotten a facelift. The hospital is planning a $150 million facelift that includes a new recently completed 17,000 square-foot glass enclosed main lobby with modern seating areas, community meeting spaces and cafés. Florida Man Convicted Of Killing Jersey City Dad In BJ's Parking Lot A jury found a Florida man guilty of murder for killing a Jersey City dad in a BJ's parking lot in 2021. Ariel Dumit, 37, was convicted on all counts, including first degree murder for the shooting death of Christian Parra, following a two-week trial, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced on Tuesday April, 18. On Feb. 28, 2021, Dumit shot Parra in the torso at a BJ's parking lot at 396 Marin Blvd. in Jersey City, prosecutors said. Trio Targeted Dunkin' In North Jersey Robbery Spree: Police Three people have been arrested and charged by Secaucus Police for robbing multiple Dunkin' locations on the same night in April. Newark Police Officer Hit By Car, Suspect At-Large A Newark police officer was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday, April 18. The accident happened at 12:31 p.m. at a gas station on the 200 block of South Orange Avenue. The driver reversed into the officer and subsequently fled the scene, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The officer was transported to University Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, Fragé said. Police are continuing to investigate, Fragé said.

Swatting Hoax Probed By Hoboken Police A report of a shooting in Hoboken on Monday, April 17 turned out to be a swatting hoax, police said. Police responded to Grand Street between 1st and Newark Streets, along with fire, EMS and police officers from the nearby Stevens Police Department. Officers closed down Grand Street as they began their investigation. Officers soon determined the call was fake and there was no threat to public safety, police said.
