Triple Shooting Kills Irvington Woman In Newark A 41-year-old Irvington woman was killed in a triple shooting in Newark on Monday evening, May 22, authorities said. Police responded to a shooting on the 900 block of 18th Avenue and found Latoya Miller-Kone suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Secaucus Police Create Marine Operations Bureau Secaucus Police are now trolling the water. The town announced the creation of its Marine Operations Bureau on Tuesday, May 23. The city said this is due to an increase in watercraft on the Hackensack River and to provide service for boaters. Longtime Bayonne Councilman Joseph Makowski, 77 Joseph L. Makowski, a longtime public servant for the City of Bayonne died on Saturday, May 13 at the age of 77, according to his obituary. Makowski spent 16 years on the City Council and also worked for the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services for over 27 years. He was council president from 1994 to 1998 and served on numerous committees and clubs. His father, Joseph E. Passaic County Man Killed In NC Plane Crash A 68-year-old Passaic County man was killed when the plane he was piloting crashed in North Carolina over the weekend, authorities said. John M. Bofinger, of Hewitt, was the only person on board the single-engine Beechcraft 35 that crashed under unknown circumstances and then burst into flames Sunday afternoon, May 21, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Scooter Rider Fatally Struck By Truck: Montclair Police A 41-year-old Verona scooterist was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon in Montclair, May 22, authorities said. Aaron Minkov collided with a truck while riding on his scooter on the 300 block of Bloomfield Avenue, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N.
