NJ Man, 69, Sexually Assaulted Minor In Car In Parking Lot: Prosecutors A 69-year-old Whippany resident was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a minor in a parking lot, authorities said. Livingston officers responding to reports of suspicious activity in a car found Alan Kelsey, on Wednesday, Aug. 2, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said. Kelsey was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, Stephens said. It was not immediately clear where the child was.

Teenager Shot In Jersey City: Authorities A 19-year-old man was shot in Jersey City early Monday morning, August 7, authorities said. At 3:22 a.m., Jersey City police were called to Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and Union Street where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his left shin, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. Two People Shot In Newark: Police Two people were hospitalized after being shot in Newark Saturday morning, authorities said. At 10:29 a.m., police responded to a report of shots fired at Astor Street near Pennsylvania Avenue,  Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.
