Man Punches, Stabs, Holds Captive Family Members On Long Island: Police After assaulting his mother and sister, a Manorhaven man allegedly held them captive in his home for over an hour, authorities said. The incident occurred when police responded to a domestic disturbance on Tuesday, May 2 at approximately 2 p.m., according to the Nassau County Police. Inside the kitchen of his Kirkwood Road home, Timothy Ibanez, age 44, had gotten into an argument with his sister, age 41, and mother, age 75. Robber Swings Knife, Threatens Long Island Walmart Employee, Police Say A 21-year-old man who allegedly robbed a Long Island Walmart store and injured an employee has been arrested, according to authorities. Officers responded to the Valley Stream Walmart, located at 77 Green Acres Road, on Tuesday, May 2 at approximately 1:10 p.m. in regards to a reported robbery. Closure Scheduled On Long Island Expressway Authorities have announced a new planned closure on the Long Island Expressway. Drivers who will be traveling during the closure time are encouraged to use Northern State Parkway instead. Weather permitting, the westbound HOV, left, and center lanes of I-495 will be closed on the night of Thursday, May 4 between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. in Oyster Bay between Exits 43 (South Oyster Bay Road) and 42 (Northern State Parkway), according to the Department of Transportation. Long Island Stop & Shop Mass Shooter Convicted, Faces 90 Years To Life After a jury deliberation of less than six hours, a Long Island man previously indicted on charges for a deadly supermarket shooting has been convicted and could face life behind bars.
