Gherson Lopez, aged 29, of Copiague, was indicted on Friday, June 2 on murder charges for his alleged role in the killing of 34-year-old Jose Argueta-Canales, the Suffolk County District Attorney announced. Long Island Man Arrested For Punching, Throwing Food In Apparent Race-Based Crime A Long Island man was arrested after police say he harassed and assaulted a trio based on their national origin. The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 30 at 6:45 p.m. in Hicksville, Nassau County Police reported. Illegal Oxy Scripts: Long Island Doctor Sentenced To Time Behind Bars A Long Island doctor who at one time was a leading prescriber of oxycodone in New York State was sentenced to spend three years behind bars for distributing the drug to patients who did not need it. The incident occurred on Thursday, June 1 at 9 a.m. in Garden City Park.
