Wrong-Way Driver Hit, Killed After Walking From Crash In Capital District A wrong-way driver survived a head-on crash with a tractor-trailer in the Capital District only to be hit and killed by another car, police said. State troopers in Albany County were called to the crash scene on the New York State Thruway near exit 23 in Bethlehem at around 11:15 p.m. Sunday, May 29. 18-Year-Old Accused Of Stabbing Man During Melee In Capital District A young man is recovering after he was reportedly stabbed during a melee in the Capital District. Saratoga Springs Police were called at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, with reports of an altercation near a parking garage on Woodlawn Avenue, police said. The caller told dispatchers that a fight had broken out involving between 15 and 20 people, but by the time officers arrived at the scene the group had dispersed, police said. Capital District Man Accused Of Raping Young Child A Capital District man is behind bars, accused of raping a young child. Saratoga County resident Allen Millington, age 26, of Gansevoort, was first arrested Wednesday, May 11, after police were tipped off that he possessed images consistent with child sexual exploitation, New York State Police said. The cyber tip was reported to the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Man Shot To Death In Capital District On 21st Birthday Police in the Capital District are trying to figure out who shot a man to death on his 21st birthday. Schenectady Police were called at around 11:30 p.m. Monday, May 30, with reports of a man lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds near State and Hulett streets. By the time officers arrived the victim had already been taken to Ellis Hospital by private vehicle, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Suspect Nabbed After Stolen Police SUV Pursuit On New York State Thruway A Capital District man is accused of stealing a police car and then leading officers on a chase down the New York State Thruway. Capital District Father, Son Indicted For Cocaine Conspiracy A father and son from the Capital District are facing years in prison for allegedly trafficking in cocaine. Jeffrey Civitello Sr., age 50, and Jeffrey Civitello Jr., age 22, both of Schenectady, were indicted on federal charges of trafficking kilograms of cocaine, according to the US Attorney’s Office in the North District. Federal prosecutors claim the duo worked with others to traffic more than 5 kilograms of the drug to Schenectady in March and April 2021. Western Mass Man Indicted For Sex Trafficking Minor A man from Western Massachusetts is accused of prostituting a minor. Hampden County resident Carlos Casillas, age 48, of Springfield, was indicted by a federal grand jury on one count of sex trafficking a minor, according to the US Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts. Investigators said Casillas caused a child under the age of 18 to engage in a commerical sex act in West Springfield in September 2021.
