Burglar Hit Same Capital District Car Wash 10 Times, Police Say An accused serial burglar from the region who allegedly hit the same business nearly a dozen times has finally been caught by police. Troopers in Columbia County were first called to the Cantele Car Wash in Greenport on April 22, 2022 with reports of two possible break-ins, according to New York State Police. Investigators determined that the wash, located on Fairview Avenue, had been burglarized on 10 occasions, with the suspect making off with over $4,000 and causing extensive damage to a vending machine and coin dispenser in the process. Saratoga County resident Zachary Duchesne, age 27, of Stillwater, was sentenced to 15 years behind bars Friday, July 22, in federal court in Albany. Hudson Valley Man Sentenced For Smuggling Vietnamese Nationals Into US A Hudson Valley man already in prison for sex crimes will serve additional time after admitting that he smuggled Vietnamese nationals into the US for profit. Orange County resident Marlon Lainez-Velasquez, age 48, of Newburgh, was sentenced to four years in prison Friday, July 22 in federal court in Plattsburgh. Recall Issued For Tony Hawk Helmets Due To Safety Hazard A national recall has been issued for a Tony Hawk helmet that fails to meet federal safety standards. Sakar International announced a recall of approximately 12, 655 of its Tony Hawk Silver Metallic multi-purpose helmets, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
