Police Investigating After Multiple Dead Dogs Found Near Capital District Trail Authorities are investigating after several deceased dogs were found near a Capital District biking trail. A passerby found the three dogs at around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, near the Uncle Sam Bike Path just north of Ingalls Avenue, a Troy Police spokesperson confirmed to Daily Voice. Investigators determined that all three animals died due to canine parvovirus (CPV), known more commonly as “parvo.” CPV is a highly contagious viral disease of dogs that typically causes acute gastrointestinal illness in puppies but can also affect older dogs. CT State Trooper Suspended Pending Sexual Assault Investigation A Connecticut State Trooper has been taken off the force amid accusations of sexual assault. Constables in New Haven County were called to a home on Old Field Road in Southbury at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 27. Turn Off Your Phone: School Superintendent In Hudson Valley Outlines New Policy Come September, students in one New York school district will no longer be able to use their cell phones during the school day. In Orange County, the Enlarged City School District of Middletown announced a “refreshed” set of expectations regarding cell phone use in schools for the 2022-2023 school year. 3 Pets Killed In House Fire In Capital District A Capital District family is mourning the loss of several pets that were killed in a house fire. Flames broke out at the Schenectady home at around 8:45 a.m. Sunday, July 24, on Cutler Street in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood. When firefighters arrived, they were told that one person was unaccounted for and that there were three pets still inside the home, according to the Schenectady Fire Department. Capital District Man Who Kept Child Porn In Folder Labeled 'Jail Bait' Sentenced A Capital District man who admitted to keeping child pornography in a computer folder labeled “jailbait” is heading to federal prison. Albany resident Christopher Pratt, age 58, was sentenced to 12 years behind bars Tuesday, July 26, in federal court in Albany.
