Capital District CEO Killed In Motorcycle Crash At Minnesota Raceway Colleagues and loved ones are mourning the death of a Capital District businessman and motorcycle enthusiast who died following a wreck on a Minnesota raceway. Schenectady-based Innovative Test Solutions (ITS) confirmed to Daily Voice that its co-founder and CEO, Scott Briody, died Friday, July 29 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash at Brainerd International Raceway. NY Postal Worker Accused Of Stealing Over $70K In Costco Reward Certificates A New York postal worker is accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of Costco rewards certificates and cashing them in for himself. Long Island resident Gerome Fowler, age 32, of North Babylon in Suffolk County, was arrested Monday, Aug. 1 on multiple charges relating to the alleged scheme. The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said between December 2021 and May 2022, Fowler used over $6,000 of stolen Costco reward checks that should have been delivered to Costco customers. Duo Wanted For Stealing $3.2K In Merchandise From Mohegan Lake Walmart, Police Say If you recognize this duo, New York State Police want to hear from you. Troopers in Northern Westchester County said the two are wanted in connection with a theft that occurred at a Walmart store in Mohegan Lake. The incident reportedly happened at around 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 16 at the Walmart on East Main Street. Driver Busted With 102 Grams Of Cocaine In Capital District, Cops Say A Capital District man is behind bars after police said he was busted driving on the New York State Thruway with more than 100 grams of cocaine. Schenectady resident Erick Olivera, age 34, was stopped by New York State Police at around 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 29 as he drove along I-87 in the town of Athens. Brand-New Poll Sheds Light On NY Gubernatorial Race Between Kathy Hochul, Lee Zeldin With a little over three months until New Yorkers choose their next governor, new polling shows Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul appears to be the favorite over her Republican opponent, Congressman Lee Zeldin. Hochul holds a 14-point lead over Zeldin, 53 to 39 percent, according to a new Siena College poll. 1 Killed, 5 Injured In Overnight Shootings In Capital District One man is dead and several others are injured following a pair of overnight shootings in the Capital District. Police said officers in Albany were called at around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 to the area of Central and Lexington avenues for reports of shots fired. Grandfather Of 6-Year-Old Cancer Patient Killed In Motorcycle Crash In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley family already grappling with their 6-year-old daughter’s cancer diagnosis has been jolted by a new tragedy. Dutchess County resident Michael Manetta, age 54, was killed in a motorcycle crash in Columbia County on Sunday, July 31, New York State Police said.
