Severe Storms Knock Out Power To Thousands On Long Island A line of severe thunderstorms that barreled through Long Island has left over 3,000 without electricity at times in the last 12 or so hours. Lane Closures: Busy Bridge Over I-95 In New Rochelle To Be Affected Traffic on a stretch of Interstate 95 that is currently in a major three-year construction project will soon be slowed by a series of lane closures in Westchester. The North Avenue bridge running over I-95 in New Rochelle will be reduced to only one lane on both Friday, July 14, and Monday, July 17, according to the New York Thruway Authority.
