An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Middletown Boy Collects Socks For Homeless Shelter MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- Logan Eisenberg, an 11-year-old Middletown resident, is doing what he can to help the homeless. Eisenberg, a sixth grader at Monhagen Middle School, has launched a sock drive for the people at the homeless shelter run by Helping Others Needing Our Resources. With his mother, Danielle, Logan would visit a gas station every week and encounter a man who would ask for spare change, who lived at a nearby shelter. Joseph Vigliotti, 69, Mount Kisco MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Joseph Vigliotti died suddenly on Friday at the age of 69. He was born and raised in Mt. Kisco and was born to Philomena and Alex Vigliotti on July 5, 1948. He is being remembered for his beautiful gardens and for his love of walking and riding his bicycle. Yorktown Woman Assaults Man With Golf Club, Steak Knife, Police Say A 59-year-old Northern Westchester woman was arrested and charged Saturday night after police say she assaulted and threatened a man with various objects. Nuala Ann O'Connor of Yorktown was charged with assault in the second degree, a Class D felony, and menacing in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Connor assaulted the victim by striking him with a closed fist, golf club, and metal guitar stand, causing bruising and swelling on his face and body, police said. Fernand Jobin, 102, Mount Kisco Resident Fernand P. Jobin Sr., a Mount Kisco resident, died on Tuesday surrounded by his family and caretakers. He was 102. Jobin was born in Quebec on Sept. 19, 1915. A longtime Mount Kisco resident, he was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Jobin was an avid walker who loved playing sports like tennis, hockey, and baseball. Mohegan Lake Man Punches Person In Face, Police Say A 22-year-old Northern Westchester man was arrested and charged Monday after police said he punched someone in the face during a domestic incident. Juan Nauta of Mohegan Lake was charged with assault in the third degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Police responded to a home on Horton Road Monday night and said during an argument, Nauta closed fist punched the victim in the face and back causing injuries and pain. Nauta was transported to headquarters for processing and was released on $1,000 bail. He is due back in court on Jan. 8.
