An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. Eleven new businesses have leased more than 25,000 square feet of retail space at the Fort Lee complex. UNLMTD Real Estate Group, which runs the complex, said they are at full occupancy. Terminated Trauma Surgeons Sue Humc Over Age Discrimination A group of trauma surgeons are suing Hackensack University Medical Center claiming they were fired because of their age. The suit was filed in March in Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex County. The surgeon group, New Jersey Trauma Critical Care Associates, says the hospital used their skills to obtain a Level 1 Trauma Center verification from the American College of Surgeons, only to be fired without cause and replaced with younger and less experienced trauma surgeons. The former home of President Richard Nixon has hit the market for $1.2 million from Christie's International Real Estate Group-Ridgewood. Newark Motorcyclist Died Doing What He Loved Helder Martins, 45, is being remembered as a loving father, son and brother. A GoFundMe campaign has been created to assist the family. As of Wednesday, April 26, more than $13,000 has been raised. Martins died in a motorcycle accident in Kearny on Friday, April 14. Woman Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Bayonne A 74-year-old Bayonne woman was killed after she was struck by a vehicle on the morning of Monday, April 24, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. At 11:50 a.m., police were called to 22nd St and Broadway and located the victim, Maryann Patey, suffering from a head injury, Suarez said.
