First New Year's Baby Welcomed At WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital Not quite a strike of midnight birth, but baby Mattie was the first infant to come into the world in 2024 at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital. Mattie Ann Eckenrode was born at 3:43 a.m. She weighed 9 pounds, 5 ounces, and was 20 inches long. Her proud but sleepy parents are Renee Cuff and Matthew Eckenrode. Troopers Among 5 Injured In New Year's Day Crash On I-95 In Delco, State Police Say A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 sent two Pennsylvania State Police troopers and three young men to area hospitals on New Year's Day. The crash happened in the southbound lanes of I-95 near mile marker 5.3 in Chester City around 3:20 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2024, as detailed in the PA State Police release. Girl Under 6-Years-Old Sexually Assaulted By Lititz Man, Police Say A man has been charged in connection with multiple sexual assaults of a girl under the age of six, Northern Lancaster County Regional police announced on Monday, Jan. 1., 2024. Detectives began investigating Wesley Franklin Kilpatrick, 27 of Lititz, in July 2023. Man Dies Nearly 20 Years After Motorcycle Crash: Lehigh County Coroner Approximately 19 and a half years after a motorcycle crash seriously injured a man he died from complications of those injuries. Eric J. Fenstermaker, was 52 when he passed at St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown at 10:50 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio detailed. Witnesses Sought After Serious I-81 Crash At Ramp In Carlisle (Update) Police activity shuttered a ramp along Interstate 81 in Central Pennsylvania on Saturday night and now officers are searching for witnesses. NJ Man Who Stabbed PA State Trooper 'Numerous Times' In Berks County ID'd A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was stabbed while serving a warrant for a New Jersey man in Berks County on Saturday, according to multiple releases by Trooper David Beohm. Double Homicide: Infant, Woman, Man Shot In Allentown, Police Say A man, a woman, and a baby were found shot in Allentown, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio told Daily Voice on Saturday.
