Palisades Interstate Parkway Crash: Man Hits NY State Police Cruiser In Rockland County A New York State police officer was injured when a local man crashed into the back of the officer’s cruiser, officials said. It happened in Rockland County on Wednesday, Aug. 30 in Stony Point, according to the New York State Police. A Park police car was stopped in the right southbound lane of the Palisades Interstate Parkway, between exits 15 and 16. Another vehicle was stuck in the lane, and the officer was blocking the lane for the car, the NYSP said. Alert Issued For Missing Long Island Teenager A teenager from Long Island has been missing for over three weeks, according to a non-profit program searching for children who have vanished. Alex Bernate was last seen on Sunday, Aug. 6 in Brentwood, according to The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Bernate, age 14, has curly black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information regarding Bernate’s location is encouraged to contact the Suffolk County Police Department at 1-631-852-2677 or by submitting a tip with The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at missingkids.org.

Long Island Murder Sentencing: Alleged Gang Member Will Spend Decades Behind Bars, DA Says An alleged member of the Bloods gang has been sentenced for the Long Island murder and attempted murder he is responsible for, officials announced. On Wednesday, Aug. 30, 27-year-old Christopher Anderson (also known as CK) of Roosevelt was sentenced to 22 years to life in prison for the incidents, which took place in November and December of 2020, according to the Nassau County District Attorney. Seen ‘Em? Search On For Trio Seen Trespassing At Former Long Island College Campus Police are searching for three people who they say were caught trespassing and damaging property at an abandoned Long Island college building. On Saturday, Aug. 26, three men were seen trespassing on the former Oakdale college, Suffolk County Police announced. According to the police, the trio also damaged property on the closed-down Dowling College campus, located at 150 Idle Hour Boulevard. The extent of the damage is unknown. Hochul Orders Long Island Beaches To Suspend Swimming Due To Hurricane Franklin As Hurricane Franklin ramps up in the North Atlantic, New York officials are taking measures to ensure that Long Islanders stay safe. On Wednesday, Aug. 30, Gov. On Tuesday, Aug. 29, Deion Barros (also known as “D” and “Little D”), age 27, was arraigned on charged including murder for a 2019 Hempstead incident, one week after Taiquan Cullum (also known as “Tay Tay”), age 33 was similarly arraigned, the Nassau County District Attorney announced. Woman Drove Drunk With Kids, Ages 2, 8 On Long Island: Police A Long Island woman was nabbed after she allegedly drove drunk with two children under 10 in her car, according to police. It happened on Friday, Aug. 25 at approximately 10:30 p.m. in Southampton, according to the New York State Police. Man Crashes Minivan Into Pediatrician Building On Long Island: Police A man attempting to park crashed into a Long Island pediatrician’s building, injuring an employee, according to police. The crash happened on Tuesday, Aug. 29 in Valley Stream, Nassau County Police said. Monroe Man, 60, Dead Following I-395 Crash A 60-year-old was killed in a two-vehicle crash on a busy Connecticut roadway. The New London County incident happened on Monday, Aug. 28 in Waterford, according to Connecticut State Police.
