Police ID Motorcyclist Killed In Capital District Crash Authorities have identified a 31-year-old motorcyclist who died following a crash in the Capital District. Saratoga County resident Jeffrey Leighton, of Gansevoort, was riding on State Route 9 in Wilton Friday morning, Aug. 12, when he collided with a car just before 9 a.m., the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said. Leighton was transported to Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, where he later died from his injuries, police said. The other driver was not injured and no criminal charges were announced. 30-Year-Old Woman Killed In Suspected DWI Long Island Crash A 30-year-old woman has died following an apparent drunk driving crash on Long Island. Suffolk County Police were called at around 2:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, with reports of a car crash in Farmingville, near Blue Point Road and Clearview Avenue. Investigators determined that Anthony Milano, age 31, of Farmingville, had been driving westbound on Clearview Avenue when he struck a parked van before hitting a tree. 24-Year-Old Man Drowns In Capital District Lake A 24-year-old man has died after apparently drowning in a lake in the region. Emergency crews in Columbia County were called Saturday, Aug. 13, with reports of a swimmer in distress at Lake Taghkanic State Park. Witnesses told authorities a man had jumped from a boat and did not resurface, according to New York State Police. Driver Charged With DWI After Deadly Crash In Capital District One person is dead following a suspected drunk driving crash in the Capital District. Emergency crews in Albany County were called Sunday, Aug.14, with reports of a collision between two vehicles in Bethlehem, near State Route 396 and Starr Road. Mom Nabbed For DWI Leandra's Law After Crash On NY Thruway In Hudson Valley, Police Say A mother from the region is facing charges after allegedly driving drunk and crashing on the New York Thruway with her two young children in the car, state police said. Man Sentenced For Operating CT Drug Mill A Connecticut man will spend more than a decade in federal prison after he admitted to running a drug mill out of his apartment. Hartford County resident Luis Ciuro, age 37, of East Hartford, was sentenced to 15 years behind bars Wednesday, Aug. 10, in federal court in Bridgeport.
