Wyandanch resident Almalik Keller, age 43, was sentenced to 25 years behind bars Monday, Aug. 22, in Suffolk County Superior Court. It came nearly a month after a jury convicted him of first-degree assault stemming from a September 17, 2021 incident outside of a smoke shop. 'All Around Great Young Man': 22-Year-Old Dies In Single Car Crash In Hudson Valley Jason Reed’s father learned that his firstborn son had been killed in a car crash in the Hudson Valley via a late-night phone call from police. Reed, a 22-year-old Orange County resident from Port Jarvis, died at around 10:20 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, following a single car crash in Ulster County, state police said. Hudson Valley Gas Station Employee Accused Of Stealing Cash From Safe A gas station employee from the region is facing charges for allegedly swiping cash from a store safe. Ulster County resident Jose Ienuso, age 31, of Kingston, was arrested Thursday, Aug. 18, following an investigation by Saugerties Police. Investigators were contacted several hours earlier by a manager at Speedway, located on Route 212 in Saugerties, who claimed that $600 was missing from a money bag that had been removed from a store safe. In Saratoga County, the Hannaford supermarket in Ballston Spa, located on Rossi Way, is recalling all 81-percent ground beef that was sold on Sunday, Aug. 21, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Recalled products have a sell-by date of Wednesday, Aug. 24. NY Seeing Spike In Kids Accidentally Eating Marijuana Edibles Authorities in New York are warning of an increasing number of kids and teens accidentally consuming marijuana edibles. Calls to the Upstate New York Poison Center (NYPC) for children and teens 19 and younger consuming cannabis-containing food spiked nearly sixfold from 2019, the organization said.
