Two Queens men were arrested after police say they stole nearly $5,900 in merchandise from two stores at Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus.
Fabian Andres Suarez Garcia, 44, of Queens, and Jordan A. Vasquez, 45, of Flushing, Queens, were arrested Wednesday, Sept. 30, following an organized retail theft investigation, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.

A tax preparer from New Jersey has admitted to orchestrating a nearly $6 million fraud scheme through his Westchester County, NY businesses that involved filing thousands of returns containing fabricated deductions and credits, federal prosecutors said.

SWAT Responds After Gunshots Ring Out At NJ Home, Man Surrenders: Police
A 57-year-old New Jersey man surrendered to police after gunshots were reported and heard near a home on Thursday morning, Oct. 1, authorities said.
Kearny police were called to a residence on Webster Avenue around 9:16 a.m. after a 911 caller reported shots fired, police said. As officers took positions near the home, another gunshot was heard, authorities said.
No residents or officers were injured. Police secured the area, established a perimeter and began negotiations with the suspect.
