Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. He wrote sports for The Ithacan and The Ithaca Journal before taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest, where he served as the sports editor at the Shoshone News-Press until heading back east to work with Daily Voice.

Police ID Man Killed In Midday Shooting At Maryland Shopping Center The Prince George's County Police Department has identified the 40-year-old man shot outside a busy Prince George's County shopping center on Monday. $20 Gets Ice Pick Bandit 30 Months Behind Bars For DC Armed Robbery The District teen who used an ice pick to hold up two contractors behind a Northwest DC restaurant is going to spend time behind bars, federal authorities announced. Hate Crime Under Investigation At Maryland Cemetery Serving African American Community: PD A cemetery that largely serves the African American community in Anne Arundel County was the subject of a possible hate crime over the weekend, police say. Confederate Memorial To Be Removed From Arlington National Cemetery A relic of the past is coming down as crews prepare to take down the Confederate Memorial at the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
